This guide covers procedures and information needed to participate in the May 1–2 UCI XCO C1 and XCC C3 events at Angler's Park in Danville, VA.

A 2026 UCI racing license is required for Elite, U23, and Junior UCI participants. Number plates are also required for training, and riders must be registered before training. Any rider not registered or not running a number plate on training day is subject to a UCI fine.

Rules & Licenses

The Showdown @ Angler's Ridge offers the following UCI categories:

• UCI Regulations shall be enforced for both Elite and Junior fields, and the UCI Scale of Penalties shall apply.
• Holders of UCI international licenses that do not bear a photograph will be required to present an approved and valid government photo ID along with their racing license.

Medical Coverage

• EMTs will be on-site during all races in the event a rider needs medical attention.
• US MTB Series and the City of Danville are not responsible for medical expenses incurred by a participant in the event.

Staging & Call-Ups

• XCC — Elite Men & Women: Latest UCI ranking published; unranked riders sorted by random number.
• XCC — Juniors: Latest UCI ranking published; unranked riders sorted by USAC rankings (short track, then XC by random number).
• XCO — All UCI Fields: Latest UCI ranking published; unranked riders sorted based on order of registration.

Podium Ceremony

The top 5 Elite Men and Women, U23, and 5 UCI Junior Men and Women must attend the podium ceremony, properly dressed in their team kit (jersey and shorts).

The UCI Men and Women Elite ceremony takes place at the conclusion of the Men's XC race. The UCI Junior Men and Women ceremony takes place at the conclusion of the Junior XC Race. Times in the event schedule are approximate — top 5 riders should attend the podium area when called.

Anti-Doping

Given the high level of sanction, this event is anticipated to be selected for doping controls. The doping control station will be located within the venue, close to the start/finish area; a sign will designate the station.

Chaperones will notify riders selected for testing, but team managers and riders are still responsible for checking at the doping control station to see whether they are required for testing. Any rider entered in the event may be selected — not just those who place on the podium.

All riders selected for testing must bring a piece of government-issued photo identification and their UCI International License to present to the Doping Control Officer. Chaperones will first accompany selected riders to the podium (if required) and then to the doping control station.

Online registration is open until 10 pm Wednesday, April 29. Race day registration is available for UCI racers, but you will not be eligible for call-ups.

80% Rule & UCI Payout

As per UCI Regulations, the 80% Rule may be in effect for both the Men and Women Elite and UCI Junior categories. Riders instructed by the Commissaires to withdraw from the race at the 80% Zone must do so.
